SonFather Guitars
Behind The Name

Through the years my Dad and I have built many things together. From boats to buildings,
most of what I have learned about craftsmanship I learned from him. He is a master mechanic,
contractor and artist in his own right. Although he has never built a guitar, the Sonfather name is a
a tribute to him. My mother is a painter, she sees with the right side of her brain and sees the good
in most things as well as people. I'm still trying to see the way she does. I didn't think that SonMother Guitars
was the tribute for her so i'm sticking with SonFather Guitars. Then of course there is my lovely wife of 30 years
of marriage. She too is an artist that sees with the right side of her brain. What she sees in me must be on
some other side of her brain. I've been self employed all my life and she has stuck by me through every
adventure. SonFather Guitars is a tribute to her patience and to her as well. I can't forget my son and daughter,
they are the other side of this family that has inspired the name. They too are artists that see with... well, they're
young adults and still trying to find the right side of their brains. They are bright, loving and musical. What a privilege
it is to teach our children. I am the product of these loving people. That fact makes me the SonFather. I am my
fathers son (mom too) and my sons father (daughter too). I am a SonFather.
