What is customizing a guitar, and why would you want to?
A house, car, boat, computer, you name it, people are modifying
what they own to make it personalized. The guitar is no different. A guitar
can be modified in a variety of ways, from just looks, to actual performance
modifications.
Electric guitars are easy to modify, there are a lot of way
this is accomplished.
A few of the other modifications that can be done to a guitar
are:
Custom frets
(Standard or Jumbo)
Bridges
(Tremelo, Tunomatic, Tonepro, Bigsbe and bass bridges)
PickGuards
This is mostly a cosmetic modification.

Most guitar come with either white or black guards.
We can make you a custom one out of your choice of material. Shown here are
a few of the blank sheets we cut from. We have solid color, pattern and mirror
sheets. All are made in one ply unless requested.

One of our guitars that a custom red pearl pickguard was made.
Stratocaster
Kits

These kits are for Fender Stratocasters and Strat style guitars.
They include a back cover, pickup covers, knobs ad a selector switch knob.
These are available in Black, White, Mint, and Aged-white.
Control Knobs

These directly with NO modification to the pots will replace your existing knob.
Another popular modification is to replace the control knobs
on a guitar.
There are many styles available. Many we can order for you.
The few knobs shown are just some of the custom knobs that
are available.
We also carry OEM replacement type knobs, such as the Gibson
Top Hats,
Fender style, and Telecaster Knurled Knobs.

One of the many modifications you can do to the electronics
of a guitar is rewire the system to perform the actual functions
you would like.
Or we can simply clean up and repair any wiring problems you may have.
<----Before & After---->
There are many, many different ways to wire and instrument
from active,
to passive, to a mixture of both.
Coil-cuts, phasing, pickup selections, shielding, adding
of additional
controls are all a possibility.
We install Stewart MacDonald Mega-switches.
We repair incorrect wiring, and can diagnose problems with
existing wiring.
Here is one of the more involved wiring jobs we've done.
Here is a fender bass that the customer wanted
the Carvin 501b active/passive system installed.

The challenge was that Carvin made the PC boards of the 501b
system to fit large cavity guitars with the
control cavities routed out in the back with a cover.
The Fender bass has a front cavity with all the controls
mounted to the pickguard, which
provide no room for the Carvin controls.
We had to route a cavity in the back to hold the PC boards.
Along with a Carvin Battery Box.

We removed the pots and remotely located them.
We mounted three in the pickguard and two in the new cavity.

The PC Boards were moved into the new cavity and wired just
like the Carvin setup was designed.

The system worked perfectly.
One of the best modifications you can have on a electric guitar is Copper shielding.
This almost eliminates all background noise and quiets down 60cycle hum. This
will actually make your guitar sound better!
